What are the Hues of Justice?

Introduction

Welcome to The Hues of Justice. Before I explain what this blog is about, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Brittany and I am a 28 year old woman from a little ole' town in the state of North Carolina. I have my both my bachelor's and master's in Social Work, and I am currently employed as a social worker & mental health clinician. I am very passionate about social justice issues, especially injustices that affect people of color. One of the issues I am most passionate about is the issue of children of incarcerated parents and how that effects inmates and their families.

This particular blog is going to be about injustices that people of color are experiencing around the globe, especially here in the United States of America. This platform will serve as a conversation starter for individuals to respectfully and honestly express their discontent with systematic racism that we face in the U.S. Now...don't get me wrong, we have a lot of places and sites where people already voice their opinions, but let me tell you how my blog is set apart from the rest. Here I welcome not only intellectual conversations about racially charged injustices, but how to combat those injustices, and create effective and systematic change to the oppressive systems we have in the world today. It is my affirmed belief that collectively, if WE as the HUMAN RACE begin to talk about things that are most uncomfortable, then and only then can we begin the ACTION process of healing and change!
